I cannot believe that today is our last ministry day here in Chichicastenango! This has been such a wonderful journey with my team, and it is hard to imagine that this mission is coming to an end. God has blessed us with so many opportunities- He truly knows the needs of his people and has used us to spread His love- from ministering to and playing games with youth, to getting to know local tuk-tuk drivers and watching them play soccer, to cooking for a group of 65 church leaders, & to praying over people to provide God’s healing. We have also gotten the opportunity to work with Juan, a Guatemalan native, who has developed a children’s ministry called New Generation. To see the heart that Juan has for his people is indescribable. The Holy Spirit is truly alive in him, and God has given him the unfathomable gift to literally speak life to dry bones.

Ezekiel 37:4-6 (NLT)

Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!’ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

God’s given us this same gift. Inside of us is something so big that we cannot even comprehend what we are capable of doing for people. Our team has touched lives, revealing Jesus to so many people in desperate need of His love. There is absolutely nothing that we cannot do without Him. He breaks down walls, casts away fears, and breathes life into each and every one of us. This trip is a true testimony to how God’s power can work in our lives, if we allow Him to. Jesus says in Matthew 28: 18-20 “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age”. We came here wanting to leave a legacy, the legacy of a known God, and his son Jesus Christ. He truly lives in us and makes beauty from the ashes.
