Hey guys! This is Joe, just wanted to give ya'll a quick recap of yesterday. So the day started off with the awesome scene of lava flowing out of the volcano near us. Don't worry we should be fine....I think....

Anyways then we went to a school to teach. We taught middle schoolers and high schoolers about "the power of the tongue". We were all really nervous about teaching (except Kristen Kramer , she's a natural) especially because we barely planned a lesson, whoops. ย The teaching went really well aside from the occasional "flirtatious comments" from the mature students. It was awesome being able to be a part of their lives for a brief moment and connecting with them.

After lunch we went with a local missionary to do home visits. My group visited two homes, both with amazing results. The first house was owned by Juan Carlos who was a devout Christian. He told us about his life and the many struggles he was going through. We then lifted him up in prayer and gave him supplies. After that we decided to worship with him as he had a guitar with him. We sang the song we learned for the trip. We sang in English while he sang in Spanish along with Luis our translator. It was so powerful and sent chills through me to hear both languages at once, truly a beautiful experience.

The next house we went to had 6 people in it. One of the mothers told us that her daughter (who was in the room) had been thinking about being a Christian but wasn't sure. So Sam and Jordan started telling them how God had changed their life and how much she loved her. Sam then asked if she wanted God in her heart and she said yes!!!! After she repeated the prayer there was a huge smile on her face (and all of ours...and tears...) God is truly working on this trip and it is an absolute pleasure to be a part of it. Bienvenido a la familia Evelyn.

Bienvenido,

Joe Grispo
