Antigua Guatemala is one of the most beautiful places I have laid eyes on. Surrounded by volcanos and lush trees this is easily one of my favorite places in the world.
During our time in Guatemala we got to work at a few different places, one of which was Potters House at the Guatemala City dump.
The dump is a very grim and hopeless place. During our time serving with Potters house we got to paint a community center which will be used for many things including a VBS next month.
During out time in the dump community the Lord really used the team to be a light in a dark place.
We also went to a hospital to spend time with children that have Cerebral Palsy. Most of these kids do not get visitors and spend much time being very lonely. Having the team there brings so much joy to these kids.
This sweet lady picked me a flower then went over to one of the kids and started blowing bubbles for him. I was so touched by her kindness and her willingness to serve others.
The group also had the chance to serve at a grandpas home. Most of these grandmas and grandpas are dropped off never having family come visit them, that breaks my heart. These grandmas and grandpas just want to be loved and cared for. Thats exactly what this team did.
Hanging out and dancing.
Putting socks on these beauties.
Painting nails, doing hair, and singing songs.
The Lord really blesses out time here in Guatemala, I am so thankful for this wonderful team and all the opportunities the Lord gave is to remind his children that they are not forgotten about.
