What up! Its the end of a great week here in Guatemala, things are winding down on this Friday night in Antigua before we all head home tommorow morning. Its been great to see the different ways God has been moving this week in the group from Camden, Alabama. a few days ago I asked a few students on the trip to write a couple paragraphs about their time here:
Hi from Guatemala!
I am a student in a youth group from Alabama. This is my second trip to Guatemala. Its such an amazing experience to be able to just walk up somewhere, put your stuff down, and just start playing, singing, do crafts, dramas(skits). This being my second trip to Guatemala; I really get to enjoy the beauty of the people and towns. It is such a blessing to see all of the smiling faces and happiness. There is somewhat of a difference from the people in Guatemala and in the United States. The people here are just so happy with what very little they have and yet very appreciative when given something like, clothes, shoes, and food. Just something so small that we take for granted everyday. When I first got here last year for my first mission trip, I was a little shocked at how they live and go about their daily lives. Dirt floors, half finished homes, and sewage running down the side of the road. Sounds bad right?, Well, that’s what I thought by just looking at it for the first time. But I came to realize that it is such a beautiful place, because it doesn’t matter where you live, what you live in, or how much money you have, the true beauty of this place is the people. Finally onto a God story…
When we did the ATL thing; a couple of girls and I went on a walk and had some t-shirts and little girls clothes. We didn’t know where we were going we just walked, and almost every person we saw we gave clothes to. But the amazing thing about it, was that everytime we pulled something out of our backpacks it would fit the child perfectly! Amazing right?!! God Bless!

Hola!
Its already been such an interesting week! God is an amazing God! To start off the week we went to Antonio’s church! (One of the local pastors in San Juan) Amazing worship experience! Drama team started off the service and our youth pastor, Steve, gave the message. Monday we started early…6:15 what a joy, right? 🙂 We traveled to San Pablo to the basketball courts, Tuesday we went to Nancy’s English school. We went to local basketball courts and played games, blew balloons, and preformed our drama! GREAT day! Wednesday we started out with breakfast, and then went back to our hotel and had a "Ask the Lord" prayer time; just a time to talk with God. After all joing back together we shared different things we God was sharing with us and places we thought we should go do ministry at. I ended up going to a local school to help with crafts and we taught the kids Jesus Loves Me in English! Wonderful morning! This is my second trip to Guatemala and it has been the best! God is moving in the country and its an awesome feeling! We have a couple more days and hoping God will do something amazing!
